G-Free welcomes your family to our Children’s Department- Journeyland.

We love kids- the more the merrier!  At Journeyland, our goal is to assist parents in the spiritual development of their children, and to provide an experience where children feel safe, valued, and connected to peers and leaders.

All of our programs use the R.E.A.L Method of teaching:

R-relational-time is taken to cultivate friendships with peers and leaders

E-experiential-children learn by doing.  Hands-on activities are provided to reinforce content.

A-applicable-Bible lessons are connected to a child’s real world. We give them the means to make choices on a daily basis that support a Biblical world-view.

L-learner based- A selection of activities is provided to allow the learners to become intrinsically motivated.

We offer an informal “hang-out” time for kids in preschool- 6th grade 30 minutes prior to each Worship Service.  It’s a great time for the kids to get to know each other and the teachers.

We use Faithweaver Curriculum during our 1st Worship service.  Classes are broken down as follows: ages 3 & 4, ages 5 & 6, 1st & 2nd grade, 3rd & 4th, and 5th & 6th. Click on the banner to find out more about it.

In the 2nd worship service, we have Kids Own Worship.  3 yrs through preschool are together for opening, and then break into small groups.  Elementary ages also open together before splitting into K-2nd grade, and 3rd- 6th grade.  Click on the banner below for more information.

Our nursery is available during both Worship Services for babies and toddlers from birth through 36 months of age.  We believe that the nursery is not just a babysitting service to keep children occupied while parents are doing important things, but that it is a vital ministry to our church and its families.  We are committed to providing a clean and safe environment staffed by trained, loving volunteers, for the children in our care.

Our ultimate goal is that:

Each child will

KNOW Jesus' love,

GROW in Jesus' love &

SHOW Jesus' love.

We do this by working with the children one-on-one, sharing basic Bible truths in ways toddlers understand.  We spend a lot to time reading, dancing, singing, and playing, too, using all of these activities in a purposeful way to convey God's love for them.

We welcome any questions you may have; please call or email us.

Cub Scouts PDF Print E-mail

Since its beginning, the Cub Scout program has been a fun and educational experience concerned with values. Besides providing a positive place where boys can enjoy safe, wholesome activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service. Cub Scouting means "doing." Everything in Cub Scouting is designed to have the boys doing things. Many of the activities happen right in the den and pack. The most important are the weekly den meetings and the monthly pack meetings.  Boys in first through fifth grade can join Cub Scouts at any time.

G-Free Church sponsors Pack 44.  We believe in developing the excitement and adventure in boys at an early age.  A number of adults at G-Free are involved in the pack whether it be through weekly teaching at den meetings or offering support in various activities throughout the Scouting year.

Den Meetings occur every Tuesday night.  First through third grade meet at G-Free church from 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM.  Fourth and fifth grades meet at the G-Free Fellowship Hall from 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM.

For more information about Cub Scouts or how to join, please contact Cubmaster, Amy Larson, at (814) 342-3226 or check out the pack website at www.bsapack44.org.
